About Mercian

Old name. New tools.

Our thinking

Advisory that builds, not just advises.

AI is having its loud years. Every week brings a new model, a new promise, a new reason to panic or spend. What most organisations actually need is quieter: someone honest to tell them what's real, and capable enough to build the useful part.

Mercian exists in that gap. We're a small, senior team that pairs frontier AI engineering with the older craft of good consulting — clear problems, honest numbers, and work that holds up after the launch. We'd rather ship one system that earns its keep than present ten slides about the future.

What we stand for

Four principles we don't bend.

i

Honesty over hype

If a technology won't earn its place, we'll tell you — even when the sale would be easier the other way. Trust is the only asset an advisor really has.

ii

Outcomes, measured

Calls answered, hours returned, revenue found, risk removed. We tie every engagement to a number you'd recognise and hold ourselves to it.

iii

Build to last

Not a prototype tossed over the wall. We engineer properly, document clearly, and stay on to make sure it keeps working.

iv

Responsible by default

Governance, privacy and safety aren't a bolt-on. We build them in from the first line, because doing AI well and doing it responsibly are the same job.

We treat your business like it's our own — because half-measures don't compound.

Senior people, start to finish

The people you meet are the people who do the work. No hand-off to a junior bench.

Technology-agnostic

We're not reselling anyone's platform. We pick the right tool for your problem, full stop.
